Description

In the face of huge evangelistic challenges, many have assumed that our message has been fine, it’s our methods that must change. But what if our chief problem is a sub-evangelical message? In this talk we consider the evangel that we preach and whether our evangelism could be more faithful to the theology of the early church and the reformers. Is our doctrine of God sufficiently Trinitarian? Is our doctrine of sin ontological and relational as well as behavioural? Does our account of the Christian life accord with the New Testament’s dominant descriptor: being “in Christ”? Perhaps we will find that a richer theology can make our presentations not more obscure but actually clearer and more compelling.
